To create Cap Cana, a 30,000-acre development requiring an investment of $1.5 billion, we brought together an elite team of professionals, among them: Grupo Abrisa, Sinercon, Jack Nicklaus, Coastal Systems International, Inc., International Marinas, Weitz Golf International, GVA, Troon Golf and Stewart, among others. Here are some of the details on their involvement:
Grupo Abrisa -- Grupo Abrisa is among the main economic forces of the Dominican Republic and the top investor in Cap Cana. This prestigious corporation owns a variety of other companies and organizations in such fields as construction, housing, health, education, airport management and insurance. Grupo Abrisa is in the process of internationalization and opening global markets in various sectors, developing strategic alliances with prestigious institutions in America and Europe who are seeking to strengthen their corporate structure.
Sinercon – Sinercon, part of Grupo Abrisa, is the national corporation overseeing construction of several projects in Cap Cana. Sinercon's excellence in planning and executing its work, as well as its innovative nature, have made it deserving of national acclaim as a state-of-the-art corporation in the Dominican construction sector.
Nicklaus Design – No other name is as synonymous with perfection in the world of golf as that of Jack Nicklaus. For decades, he astonished the world of golf with his performance as one of the greatest players of all times. For years, his design firm has led the way in creating the finest golf courses in the world. His company has brought together the best designers, agronomists, industrial engineers, and experts in the construction and marketing of golf resorts. Jack is the designer of our three Jack Nicklaus signature courses at Cap Cana.
Coastal Systems International Inc. – An international firm specializing in maritime construction, Coastal Systems International Inc. is designing and engineering our marina at Cap Cana. Coastal Systems has spent 20 years designing and building marinas, beaches and coastal structures in Florida, the Caribbean and the Americas.
International Marinas – This firm is also part of the team planning and managing our marina. Rarely can one find elite professionals involved in the management of marinas like International Marinas, with over 100 years of design and implementation of marinas for large boats.
Edward D. Stone, Jr. & Associates (EDSA) -- Known as one of the leading international firms in architectural planning and development, its work involves areas as different as design of hotels and resorts, planning of residential and entertainment complexes, as well as urban design and planning, the environment and ecotourism. www.edsaplan.com
Weitz Golf International – A leading corporation in the construction of golf courses and golf clubs with 149 year's experience, Weitz Gold International is building the project's three golf Jack Nicklaus signature golf courses.
Troon Golf – Leader in management services of golf complexes, Troon Golf is supervising construction of the three Cap Cana courses designed by Jack Nicklaus and will manage all operations the project's golf clubs.
GVA & Asociados – Since 1961 GVA & Asociados has consolidated as an organization that offers solutions, whose structures allow for architectural work that not only comply with their object, but that are also pleasing to the eye and the spirit, by being very respectful of the harmony of the environment.
Stewart – Founded in 1893, Stewart is a corporation offering information and management services for real estate transactions. It offers titled ownership guarantee and related services with over 7,800 offices and agents in the United States and international markets.
AltaBella Hotels -- AltaBella Hotels builds and operates deluxe hotels. Three of its first hotels will be located in Cap Cana. The company is part of the hospitality division of a Spanish investment group. The Sanctuary Cap Cana, our flagship hotel property, has just opened in Cap Cana. The AltaBella Fishing Lodge Suites and Apartments are in the development stage in the Marina area of Cap Cana.
Oscar Imbert & Antonio Segundo Imbert, Architects – Architect Oscar Imbert Tessón, born in Puerto Plata, graduated in 1980 from Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU) and holds a Master's degree in Architecture from the Pratt Institute of Design of New York, 1983.
Antonio Segundo Imbert, also born in Puerto Plata, studied architecture at Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU) in 1991. His work at Punta Cana is visibly permeated with the beauties of the natural landscape, reflected in the use of local materials, full of texture and rich color.
Patricia Reid Baquero – An interior design graduate from Universidad Pedro Henríquez Ureña, she is the president of the firm Patricia Reid Baquero. Among the projects developed by Reid are: Carambola Hotel (St. Croix, Virgin Islands), Hotel Casa de Campo (La Romana, Dominican Republic), Seminole Golf Club (Palm Beach, Florida), and the home of Julio Iglesias (Marbella, Spain), among many others. With an extensive national and international experience, she has designed the exclusive and elegant Caletón Beach Club.
Alexandra Guzmán – Alexandra Guzmán de Campagna, architect and interior designer, has worked in numerous residential and commercial buildings in Dominican Republic and the United States. A nature lover, color is her best ally, an influence of our Caribbean environment. Her designs are seen in bungalows at Caletón Beach, as well as at the Cap Cana Information and Sales building.
Sandra Ehlert Diseño de Interiores, S. A. – A firm founded and chaired by Sandra Ehlert
since 1991. She is an honors graduate in Interior Design from Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña. She began her career working with designer Patricia Reid Baquero. Since then she has kept up to date in the world of design, bringing her firm to the forefront in this exclusive market. She designed Cap Cana's Founders' apartments project.
